Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an IT Director, Database Engineering and Provisioning. This position is located in Raritan, NJ. Travel up to 10% may be required.

The purpose of this position includes: Engineer Database Platforms & Solutions for scalability, reliability, performance and maintainability on Software defined data center (SDDC) stack; Assist Software defined data center (SDDC) engineering work stream for database related technologies to drive capability release based on roadmaps; Adopt and drive customer centricity model across database BUILD organization to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction; Drive Strategic Initiatives related to Big Data and Database technologies for J&J; Lead a functional team of DBAs deployed globally to provide provisioning and L3 support; Develop database technology roadmaps aligned with Plan & RUN functions in support of IT strategy; Responsible for monitoring and reliability of the database platforms for J&J; Evaluate database technology trends and apply them to continuously update environments through partnering with technology providers; Deliver business innovation through new solutions, operating models, and capabilities in database domains across all business functions; Define product lifecycle management including release management, upgrade/patch strategy and retirement plans for database technologies; Develop database licensing strategies and monitor database usage across J&J globally; Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the ITS BUILD organization; Improve I/T Risk Profile by reducing regulatory, security, compliance and availability risk; Recruit, Coach, and Develop high potential talent for leadership roles in IT; Identify and implement value creation opportunities to drive competitive advantage for J&J.
People leadership responsibilities include: Improve bench strength by aligning team members along key competency areas. Responsible for People leadership and Organizational management through well-defined Goals and Objectives. Prioritize organizational goals to help achieve transformational results; Define Organization's core competencies and skill gaps and develop training plan to support SDDC transformational initiative; Continue to reinforce Credo value and improve employee engagement through customer centricity framework; Align roles and responsibilities across Plan, Build, and Run organizations for effective delivery of database services across the organization.
Technical leadership responsibilities include: Develop and implement 3-5 year technology strategy for DB platforms in alignment with SDDC roadmap; Champion and Evangelize next generation Big Data Strategies that enables new business models to drive competitive advantage for J&J; Continually evaluate future IT trends in DB areas and incorporate pilot and innovation programs within SDDC roadmaps; Partner with various groups such within IT to develop demand driven service lifecycle for database technologies; Strategy for minimizing planned downtime for operational activities; Develop and Implement both short-term and long-term strategic programs focused on providing observable, measurable improvements to end users, operational counterparts, and business partners; Implement DB Virtualization for high availability, data redundancy, and capacity on demand for Oracle and SQL Server technologies. Knowledge of ESX and best practices for database deployments on virtual servers required; Deploy Database as a Service on cloud based infrastructure (On & Off premise). Deep knowledge of Orchestration, Automation, and Monitoring of Oracle and SQL Server based database platforms is required; Integration of Oracle and SQL Server into Active Directory for enterprise user security and role-based authorization; Drive Technology Lifecycle Management including new installs and patch management; Optimize Microsoft and Oracle software license models for physical, virtual, and cloud-based deployments; Develop and Implement Oracle's Cluster Ready Services; Implement encryption algorithms and encryption key management for Oracle & SQL Server; Implement advanced replication technologies for high availability and disaster recovery in SAP environments; Develop strategy for minimizing planned maintenance windows for large databases in support of ERP applications; Deep knowledge and experience with SAP tools and its integration with Oracle technologies; Develop tapeless and de-dup based backup solutions for Oracle and SQL Server databases; Experience with tools and capabilities to perform proactive and reactive incident and capacity monitoring, with integration to alerting and ticketing technologies; Security and compliance controls necessary to meet regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes Oxley, GxP, and HIPAA, and Safe Harbor. Capabilities and tools available to baseline and troubleshoot system performance at the virtualization, operating system, and database layers, as well as key performance metrics; Storage design and tiering considerations for optimal I/O performance, scalability, and protection. i.e. RAID configuration, stripe-sizing, storage tiering; Inter-database distributed access using public and private Database links or linked servers; Data migration solutions for upgrading software versions and movement of data across databases with minimal downtime.
Business and financial leadership responsibilities include: Manage budgetary responsibility for the DB BUILD organization - headcount, licenses, travel, training, etc. with focus on efficiency and optimal resource allocation; Provide inputs for service development, cataloging, unit cost of service and usage patterns; Align partners and stakeholders across J&J to create financial model for cost recovery and Service Catalog management; Drive growth in Emerging Markets by providing cost effective, locally-appropriate DB technology solutions and capabilities
Operational leadership responsibilities include: Partner with PLAN and RUN organization to drive Partner Satisfaction for all DB services and solutions; Reduce compliance risk by increasing focus on process adherence, standardization, Identity & Access Mgmt, & Configuration Mgmt; Leverage Technology Lifecycle Management Processes to drive reduction of legacy technologies.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. An advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of IT experience is required. Extensive experience with Technology management in the areas Oracle & SQL Server Databases is required. Experience in Oracle and SQL are required. Experience in SAP and/or JDE is preferred. Demonstrated success throughout his/her career across diverse cross-section of technologies and project roles is required. A minimum of 5 years of People and Organizational management experience is required. Experience developing and implementing both short-term and long-term strategic programs focused on providing observable, measurable improvements to end users, operational counterparts, and business partners is required.
Exceptional leadership, networking, and influencing skills to create alignment of senior cross-functional stakeholders are required. Credible content expertise in Technology Management is required. Ability to navigate through Johnson & Johnson processes & organizational structure is preferred. Strong Business Acumen is required. Well-developed Project Management, Presentation, and Facilitation skills are required. Decision Making/Problem Solving Skills are required. Process Excellence to include defining and designing process flows is required. Demonstrated ability to deliver results is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
